SS Studying Assignment- Due MONDAY

We have been trying a different method of studying and you have a choice of two options to complete for this assignment, which will be due on Monday.

IMPORTANT! This assignment must be completed before you are allowed to write the test. If the assignment is not done for the assigned block on Monday, you wil:

1) be in at lunch to work on it
2) be working in on it while the rest of the class is writing the test
3) be in with Mrs. Teichrob from 3-4 on Monday after school to finish it
4) Steps 1-3 will be repeated on Tuesday until the assignment is done.

Basically, YOU WILL ONLY WRITE THE TEST ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS!

CHOICE NUMBER 1 - MIND MAP

A. At the centre of your mind map, it will read "High Middle Ages
B. The six main themes of the chapter (see below) will branch out of the centre
1. Feudalism
2. Medieval Life & Customs
3. Beliefs & Religion
4. Law
5. The Crusades
6. Royal Power
C. Write all of the chapters vocabulary words under the matching chapter theme (one of the 6 themes listed above)
D. Use color and small symbols/pictures to organize your mind map onto a large piece of paper, according to the theme. For example, all of the vocabulary words that are in some way connected to feudalism will all be the color red and will be located on one section of your paper. You should incorporate every bolded word in the chapter as well as important people, places, things and concepts that are mentioned throughout the chapter under one of the six main themes.

CHOICE NUMBER 2- SONG

A. For this option, you will complete parts A, B and C as listed above.
D. Choose and download a karaoke version of one of your favorite songs. Write your own lyrics using the same organizational strategies and words that were mentioned above. You should be able to understand the meaning of the words by the way that you use it in the song (just like how we do with vocab sentences!). You may want to incorporate actions etc. to help you remember the lyrics. You will not have to perform this before the class...just Mrs. T :)

This assignment is going to be due before you write the test on Monday. Be sure you put time and effort into this task as it will be worth more marks than a worksheet etc.
